The Final Countdown!
It doesn't seem to matter how many late night and long days you put in the last few days before the start of the season always seem crazy. We open on Saturday 7th May and although fields have a little way to go before they flower they already smell amazing. We'll have 20 varieties of lavender to buy in the shop and a huge number of new products that we've been working on over the winter. It would be lovely to see you, so pop on in for a coffee and a chat this Saturday.

Taking Group Bookings now...
Hi everyone, January was clearly the month when everyone took advantage of their new diaries and got in touch to book group tours. As a result of this early interest and in response to your comments last year we've increased the number of tours we offer each day and will be opening seven days a week during peak season. Click here to see our opening hours.
You don't have to book to come and see us of course but if you're a member of a group and want to take advantage of the tours we offer then these do need to be prebooked. There are some great benefits of prebooking group tours evening tours after we close to the public.
To book your tour call us on 01462 434320 or drop Nick an email at nick@hitchinlavender.com
It hasn't just been tours that have kept the phone ringing, we've had more enquiries than ever about hosting wedding receptions at Hitchin Lavender, we're now full for 2011 but we are taking bookings for 2012, if you'd like more information just call the number above or email Tim at tim@hitchinlavender.com

Thanks for the season!!!!!
Hitchin Lavender is now closed for 2010! (but not to worry you can still buy our products online)
We would like to send you all our warmest of thanks for all of your support and for help making the season such a success! Thank you!!!!!!We'll be putting in all our efforts to make next year an even better one.
We also want to mention the amazing amount of money that was donated by you all to help people whose lives are affected by Motor nuerone Disease. Hitchin Lavender is very proud to say its visitors raised more than £650. We are extremely grateful - please check out this website if you want to help this cause. www.mndassociation.org
We also wanted to say a special thank you to James and Dave who worked so hard from start to finish and were great guys to hang around with - we wish you both the very best for the future. We know that Dave has expressed a desire to work on other farms (he comes very highly recommended by us, so if anyone has a farm and is looking for someone...) and that James has joined British Basketball League's Leicester Riders - (he's the tall one in the photo by the way..) - Good luck to the both of you and we'll be you watching James! http://www.leicesterriders.co.uk/?warwick-adds-to-riders-roster,306

Cheers guys.

Hitchin Lavender on top of the world!!!!
What can we say..... apart from that we are all extremely humbled by the incredible gesture our cousin surprised us with the other day...
Whilst on top of Mount Everest.....that's right.....Ev-er-est!!!!!!!!!!! Cousin Ed produced a hand stitched banner of Hitchin Lavender!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please please please visit his website and read of his awe inspiring expedition.
http://www.edoneverest.com/
You can still sponsor him too!
Here's a few words we'd like to blurt out to try and help express what we have been left feeling.....
Stststst-aggered.
Flabbergasted.
Bowled over and blown far far far away.
NOT WORTHY.
Utterly utterly Speechless..
You're a star mate.

Saturday 7 August
We're getting lots of calls asking if the lavender has been harvested yet, the majority of our lavender is still in flower and looks great - still well worth the visit.
If you're coming this Saturday please be aware that due to a staff shortage we will not be serving baguettes or panini's, however we'll still have cakes and scones a plenty and we'll be open as usual. Normal service will be resumed on Sunday! As normal as we get anyway...
